Completing the Task

To complete a goal or a task (or to continuously develop it further, in as much as further ‘cycles’ are necessary), the following points may be important:

• that the responsibility for the continuity of the tasks is passed on (to others), or it is laid down how further development will proceed from here.
• that thanks, feedback and lessons learned are explicitly formulated, reflected upon and taken up.
• that care must be taken not to get caught up between the old and the new and that one moves forward. One seeks something new.

These points apply to individuals during job changes, teams, project teams and, also, organisational units. In the speed of today’s working world, however, the old is frequently forgotten or lost, but not consciously terminated. This can have pronounced, damaging consequences for future activities and important lessons learned from the past are in danger of being lost.
