Project teams have two particular challenges with regard to the guiding process team parameters:
• Project teams know from the outset that they exist for a limited time. An end is certain. As a result, some members, do not allow themselves, from the outset, a close affiliation. Putting it another way, others are not allowed to become too important.
• Many members have split loyalties, because, at the same time, they belong to other teams and they feel obliged to them. Depending on where their career is decided, many will prioritise accordingly. Therefore, project teams, to a certain extent, are always in a precarious situation and struggle for the team parameters appropriate to the task. This is often underestimated and is not easy for anyone involved to deal with. In addition, it requires a corresponding ability, on the psychological level, as well as with all the other team-dynamic guiding processes.
