Self-Confidence

We like to ascribe self-confidence, because we see a person as self-assured if he is conscious of himself. Thus, self-confidence is the result of successful self-perception, self-acceptance and an uninhibited ability to always reckon with unconscious and latent aspects of one’s own person. Self-confidence, therefore, can only be achieved in a very limited and unstable way through behaviours (competences) or through behavioural goals (success!), as both can fail or break away at any time. This is why so many people fall into deep crises when they fail at doing something! Nobody, however, can take away stability which is based upon the guiding processes of self-perception, self-acceptance and personal responsibility! Thus, working on a stable, inner basis, not dependent on external action, is an effective way of preventing crises.
