Reflection Routines

With reflection routines we describe the informal patterns of what, when and for which reason a team changes the communication on the reflection level. With these, in particular, teams are very different: In one team it is completely inconspicuous when the boss puts down a team member in a meeting, in another he is immediately challenged for this by other team members. In one team, when the yearly targets are missed, it is an event which is spoken about for days, in other teams they shrug their shoulders and continue working.

Therefore, for team consultation, it is very useful to hold an on-site regulation meeting before or after a workshop. The immediate observation enables identification of conspicuous issues in the reflection routine of the team and, where appropriate, the provision of feedback. Otherwise, it is not so easy for the team to detect that which it no longer notices as requiring communication (anymore).
