Acting without a Uniqueness Desire

If people are frustrated in the satisfying of uniqueness, this will, probably, have the following effect on their actions: they become passive and hope that they will, nevertheless, be noticed for that which they hold back inside them. The vicious circle which develops (because I don’t reveal myself, I wish to be noticed even more, and because I don’t feel noticed, I have a fear of revealing myself) is then increasingly difficult to interrupt. It confirms itself. The attempts to manipulate the environment intensify: complaining, feeling victimised, feeling disadvantaged, devaluing others because they put themselves forward or because they are so inattentive towards one’s own person. This again leads to the fact that one’s own attractiveness reduces. Instead, one seems demanding, complicated or unlikeable. Rather than confirmation one is more likely to receive rejection.
