Acting without a Closeness Desire

When people get frustrated in the satisfying of closeness, it almost certainly influences their actions like this: they seek activities which they can practice without others. They avoid conversing about personal subjects, acquire superficial, sometimes jovial and apparently entertaining communication styles (jokes, trivialities, monologues) or, in turn, they become unfriendly, dismissive or solitary. For as long as possible, they solve problems on their own, deny physical complaints to avoid being dependent upon others, foster contacts via distance-creating media (emails, chats, readers’ letters, comment forums), remain uncommitted, anonymous and unrecognised with contacts, or they put joint activities in the foreground (sport, special hobbies and interests). Partnerships are either missing completely or they are shared with a similar partner and they live their own lives alongside each other without much interaction.
